I wear many different hats while using an equally diverse number of media to create numerous types of designs, such as:
My name is Erin Kwiatkowski. I was born and raised in Tempe. Arizona is a state that I truly love, as well as the background history. My grandfather, Ladmo, was a star on one of the first local Arizona television stations. The Wallace and Ladmo Show is still today considered the longest running children’s show (36 years). It was full of creativity and comedy. Two things that I strive for today. My father, who was Ladmo’s first son, has that same artistic mind. As I was little, we would always decorated the entire house with his hand-made Christmas decorations, such as a life-size Coca Cola polar bear and hand-made icicle lights. I would always get so excited to help out and to see what new creation we could add to the house. As I grew up surrounded by innovation, my career path led me into Graphic Design.
Right after high school, it was a no-brainer to attend Arizona State University as my father and grandfather went there. After 2 years of taking the basic fundamental Graphic Design courses, I was admitted into the Upper Division Program. Within that time, I took on an internship with the international company, FITCH. I was able to learn multiple realms in the design world, as I helped develop store interiors (True Religion in England, Yogurt Mill in California and Cibo Bistro restaurants in east-coast airports).
My final year at ASU, I was selected to be a part of the ASU Innovation Space Program where I did extensive research and product development. I worked with a team that consisted of an Industrial Designer, Electrical Engineer, and Business student. The team developed three silicone-based products for the manufacturing company, Dow-Corning. After field-interviews and analysis, we narrowed down to one final product. Creating the brand from start to finish, including the product brand book, concept-models, and a company website. (This product is currently under-review for a patient.)
Upon graduation, I developed a relationship with a marketing agency located in Scottsdale, called Identity Studios. I began to do work for the company as an in-house intern to apply the knowledge I learned in school to the real-world. After over-looking the needs for their target customers, I now develop marketing material, website and email campaigns for their Fortune 500 companies. On the side, I also do freelance work for local companies (One Source and Yogurtini). I continuously strive to grow as a designer and push to learn something new each day.
